The ever changing wine market has seen wineries place demands on growers to replant and convert to fashionable regional varieties.

Whether grafting or replanting vine redevelopment has traditionally been an expensive and labour intensive exercise. Nepenthe's research and development team have innovated a mechanical way to achieve this without the removal of the cordon wire or trellis system. This method can offer growers savings of up to 50% from previous methods.

This is achieved by the following 5 basic steps:

Vine Removal:



Vine digger removes old vine and root system and places it in the mid row ready for collection.

Mulching:



Mulching of existing vine off the cordon wire, leaving the cordon intact and ready for re-use.

Vine Row Mounding:

Our vine-mounding disc re mounds the vine row filling in any holes left by removal of the old vines. This will ensure a better surface for replanting.
